Mandated IATA Changes Effective 15 JANUARY 2005 The International Air Transportation Associations (IATA) Composite Resolution effective January 15, 2005, Mail Vote 200 and PTC Composite Memorandum 1080, state that fare construction rules no longer involve the use of the IATA International Sale Indicator or ISI code (SITI/SOTI/SITO/SOTO). There is no longer a requirement to establish ISI or to display/print these indicators in fare quote or travel documents. Given the background, effective 15 January 2005, new fare construction rules apply which no longer involve the use of the International Sale Indicator codes of SITI, SOTI, SITO, and SOTO. In addition, the Country of Unit Origin Minimum (COM) check will no longer apply to any transactions. The Higher Intermediate Point (HIP) check diminishes in scope as it only covers fares to/from intermediate stopover points for all transactions. The Directional Minimum Check (DMC) will now only apply to journeys with travel to/from or via Japan, provided the fare is not issued in the country of commencement of travel.
